PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Shon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shon might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jizz In My Pants. Powers has chosen Magpie by The Mountain Goats as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Howard Powers enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers thuds his right hand into Shon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Shon shoots in for a double leg but Powers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Shon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shon is trying to control. Powers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Shon is taking a breather. Powers says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Shon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Powers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eric Shon.
Shon tries to clinch but Powers is having none of it.
Powers looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Shon ducks under a wild hook from Powers.
Shon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Shon shoots in looking for a takedown but Powers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shon goes for a double leg but Powers avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Powers continues to drive forward.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shon takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Powers lands with a right and another and another! Shon is in big trouble! Powers lands again and this time it's lights out for Shon! A quality knockout there for Powers.
