Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alister Knight!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Knight shoots in for a takedown but Godbey shows good takedown defense.
Godbey scores with a one two! Knight had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Godbey throws a head kick that misses.
Godbey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
John Godbey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alister Knight.
Knight looks for a takedown but Godbey sprawls well.
Godbey stuffs the takedown attempt from Knight. Knight gets slowly back to his feet.
Knight should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Knight closes the distance and clinches up with Godbey, looking for a takedown. Knight pushes Godbey against the cage but Godbey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Knight shoots in but no luck this time.
Godbey drives through with a takedown into guard.
Godbey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Knight, up you get!
Godbey has Knight up against the cage in a clinch.
Godbey prevents a takedown attempt there.
Godbey breaks the clinch.
Godbey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Knight tries for a takedown but Godbey circles away easily
and Godbey counters with a head kick.

and Godbey counters by clinching up.
Knight looks gassed!
Godbey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Godbey makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Knight really felt that one!
Godbey gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Godbey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Knight doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Godbey counters with a three punch combo that has Knight backing up. Knight nods at Godbey to acknowledge the strikes.
It looks like Alister Knight has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Godbey misses with a wild combination.
Godbey throws a nice inside leg kick.
Knight is trying desperately to land a takedown but Godbey is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Knight.
Knight has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Godbey gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Godbey gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Godbey stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Godbey has hold of one of Knight's legs. Knight is fighting the takedown attempt but Godbey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Godbey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Knight is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Godbey wants to get back to full guard.
Knight seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight passes to full mount!
A nice elbow there by Knight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight has control of Godbey's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Godbey regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Knight is working for a guillotine from mount but Godbey frees his head quite easily.
Knight looking to secure an arm triangle but Godbey defends it well.
Knight quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Knight but it's paid off an Godbey is forced to tap! Nice work by Knight.
