Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Tkyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abu Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abu Rock is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tkyka throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Tkyka throws a right and a left that Rock avoids nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Tkyka has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Tkyka throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rock tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tkyka sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rock somewhat.

Rock is trying to work for a kimura but Tkyka is defending well.
Rock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tkyka with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tkyka has hold of Rock's hands but Rock slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rock looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Rock is trying to control. Tkyka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rock is nestled in close to Tkyka, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Rock takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rock takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tkyka feints a jab promting Rock to slip. Tkyka then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rock slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Tkyka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rock.
Tkyka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rock.

Rock takes a swing at Tkyka's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tkyka. Rock does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tkyka.

Tkyka punishes Rock's body with a nice straight punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rock takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

That's time! Tkyka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Tkyka lands with a shot to the body.
Tkyka throws a front kick aimed at Rock's knee but Rock avoids it well.
Tkyka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rock drops his hands momentarily and Tkyka takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rock crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tkyka - the referee stops the clock and Rock gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tkyka. Rock manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Rock shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tkyka sprawls well. Tkyka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rock gets slowly back to his feet.
Tkyka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rock moves away.

Tkyka connects with a looping right hand.
Tkyka throws a body kick that misses.
Tkyka looks to score with a jab to the body but Rock is just out of range.

Tkyka lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rock backs up against the cage.

Tkyka shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rock eats them both and turns towards Tkyka to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rock shoots for a double leg takedown but Tkyka sprawls well. He's pushed Rock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A combination from Tkyka does no damage.
Rock closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tkyka circles away.

Tkyka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rock tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tkyka defends well and Rock ends up having to push Tkyka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rock keeps control of Tkyka as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rock shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Rock was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tkyka is looking for a sweep.
Rock cracks Tkyka with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tkyka is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rock asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rock lands a few punches from side control.
Rock lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Rock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rock thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rock misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tkyka is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Rock remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rock's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

I would just about give that final round to Abu Rock.
