Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kvasov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Waters has time to react.
Waters throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kvasov on the side of the head.
Kvasov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Waters paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kvasov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kvasov moves in looking to clinch but Waters pushes him off.
Good leg kick by Waters there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Waters lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Waters fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Waters throws the left hand but Kvasov avoids the punch easily.
Kvasov tries to clinch up.
Waters looks to land a left hand but Kvasov moved out of range nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kvasov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Waters tries to bum rush Kvasov with a series of wild strikes but Kvasov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kvasov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Waters tries to clinch but Kvasov moves out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kvasov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Waters changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Waters lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Waters misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kvasov.
Waters tries to work over Kvasov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kvasov takes a shot to the head.
Kvasov throws a head punch that misses.
Waters lands a body shot in the clinch.
I was talking to Kvasov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Waters lands with a short punch from the clinch.


Kvasov is rocked!
Waters lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kvasov backwards.
Oh Kvasov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Waters dips a shoulder and cracks Kvasov with a mighty uppercut! Kvasov falls back against the cage and Waters unloads with a barrage of strikes! Kvasov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Waters screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derek Waters!
