Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Hoar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoar swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Grove throws out a leg kick but Hoar moves out of range and Grove only half commits.
Grove with a nice cross.
No joy there for Grove, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hoar paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hoar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Grove counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hoar stuffs the takedown attempt from Grove. Grove gets slowly back to his feet.
Hoar dodges the punch combination from Grove.
Grove scores with a decent looking hook.
Hoar with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Grove to score with a decent uppercut.
Horrible takedown by Grove or perhaps it was just good defense by Hoar which made him look bad.
Hoar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Grove.
Hoar checks a leg kick nicely.
Grove lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hoar misses with a few strikes there.
Grove looks to land a combination. Hoar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Some wild striking there from Hoar.
Grove ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hoar moves away.

Hoar closes the distance and clinches.
Grove wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hoar has him pressed against the cage.

Hoar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Grove throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hoar counters with a good low kick that Grove was not able to check.
Hoar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Grove throws a right hand that Hoar ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoar also avoids with ease.
Hoar closes the distance and clinches up with Grove, looking for a takedown. Hoar pushes Grove against the cage but Grove circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hoar shoots in for a takedown but Grove shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Hoar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hoar takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nice straight punches there by Grove. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Grove.
Grove keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hoar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Grove shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Grove throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hoar misses the jab.
Grove lands the left hand.
Grove scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Grove misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Grove fails to land with a series of punches.

Grove fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hoar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hoar moves out of range of the leg kick from Grove.
Grove works the jab nicely.
Hoar throws a combination that misses

so Grove counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Hoar looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Grove is defending well. Hoar quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Grove has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hoar celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
