Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sukuraba thows a left - swing and a miss!
Smithy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sukuraba dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Smithy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sukuraba lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Smithy avoids the head kick by Sukuraba.
Smithy tries to move into range but Sukuraba moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
An inside leg kick lands from Smithy.
Smithy scores with a one two! Sukuraba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Razz Sukuraba has been cut.
Sukuraba throws a big shot that misses.
Smithy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sukuraba momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smithy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sukuraba throws a wild body kick that Smithy sees coming a mile off.
Smithy throws a nice looking combination but Sukuraba bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sukuraba connects with a right hand. Smithy shakes it off.
Sukuraba has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Sukuraba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Smithy lands a nice hook to Sukuraba's body. Sukuraba takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sukuraba wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Sukuraba bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smithy's head.
Jakobi Smithy is winning the standup battle so far.
Sukuraba lands a slapping body shot.

Sukuraba stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Smithy.
Smithy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sukuraba.

Smithy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sukuraba.
Sukuraba digs a good hook to Smithy's body.
Sukuraba lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sukuraba misses with an uppercut.
Smithy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sukuraba.
Sukuraba throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smithy slips under a jab from Sukuraba.
Sukuraba looks to score with a jab to the body but Smithy is just out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smithy thuds his right hand into Sukuraba's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smithy connects with a quick right hand that sends Sukuraba tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
