Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Katsuro Kazuhiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Sterrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Katsuro Kazuhiro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominic Sterrey!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sterrey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sterrey lands a really nice looking cross but Kazuhiro seems unphased.
Sterrey dives in for a single leg takedown but Kazuhiro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kazuhiro lands an uppercut.
Sterrey blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kazuhiro misses with a hook from the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Sterrey fails to land.
Kazuhiro has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sterrey is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Katsuro Kazuhiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Sterrey.

Sterrey gets control of Kazuhiro's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sterrey will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sterrey shoots for a takedown but Kazuhiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sterrey shoots in looking for a takedown but Kazuhiro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sterrey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Sterrey counters with a single leg into guard. Kazuhiro didn't expect that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sterrey looking to sit in guard and control but Kazuhiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sterrey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kazuhiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sterrey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kazuhiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sterrey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sterrey is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sterrey wants to control from the top but Kazuhiro keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kazuhiro comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sterrey scores with a punch to the head.
Sterrey tries a low kick but Kazuhiro avoids it.
Kazuhiro does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sterrey drops his hands momentarily and Kazuhiro takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kazuhiro swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sterrey.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kazuhiro throws out a leg kick but Sterrey moves out of range and Kazuhiro only half commits.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kazuhiro throws a push kick but Sterrey slaps the foot to one side.
Kazuhiro tries a low kick but Sterrey avoids it.
Sterrey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kazuhiro was well out of range. Poor timing from Sterrey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Katsuro Kazuhiro will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sterrey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kazuhiro is fending him off so far but Sterrey persists. Nope, Kazuhiro circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazuhiro bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sterrey takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Kazuhiro clinches with his opponent.
Sterrey is trying to force a seperation but Kazuhiro has the dominant position.
Kazuhiro misses with a punch on the inside.
Kazuhiro lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sterrey backwards.
Sterrey fails to pull guard.
Kazuhiro is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sterrey is keeping busy.
Sterrey blocks an uppercut.

Sterrey has clasped his hands together around Kazuhiro's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sterrey cracks Kazuhiro with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kazuhiro tries to lock up and control but Sterrey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Sterrey avoids the attempt from Kazuhiro to control.
Sterrey cracks Kazuhiro with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kazuhiro tries to hold on but Sterrey postures up.
Oh Kazuhiro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kazuhiro tries to reverse the position but Sterrey maintains control.
Sterrey landing strikes from the mount.
Kazuhiro really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dominic Sterrey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sterrey loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kazuhiro scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sterrey land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sterrey stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominic Sterrey! Dominic Sterrey retains his welterweight title!
