Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Amado Mccray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Manalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manalo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Manalo has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Los Angeles. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mccray is trying to control but can't.
Mccray is doing well to control the position and prevent Manalo from advancing to side control.

Manalo is working for a kimura but Mccray is defending it quite comfortably.

Mccray tries to get to full guard but Manalo has control of the leg.

Mccray tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Manalo swivels and escapes.

Manalo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mccray moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mccray fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Manalo avoids it really well and circles away.

Mccray looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mccray takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Manalo attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Manalo gets to his feet - Mccray follows without any prompting.

That's time! Mccray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mccray shoots in looking for a takedown. Manalo tries to sprawl out of it but Mccray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manalo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Mccray with that takedown attempt.
Mccray really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mccray is looking to control Manalo's arms but Manalo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mccray has his back to the cage.

Manalo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Manalo manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

James Manalo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mccray goes for a double leg but Manalo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Manalo continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amado Mccray. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Manalo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Mccray parries the strikes from Manalo easily there. Manalo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mccray to escape.
Manalo wants to control but Mccray is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Mccray's face as Manalo controls the position.

Mccray tries to buck Manalo off but Manalo is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Manalo.
Mccray tries for a takedown but Manalo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Manalo forces Mccray back against the cage and clinches.
Manalo wants to break free but Mccray has control.
Mccray leaning against his opponent.
Manalo is struggling to control the position.
Manalo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mccray keeps control of Manalo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Mccray is pushing Manalo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Mccray manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Manalo leaves Mccray with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

James Manalo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mccray shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Manalo but Manalo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Manalo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Manalo lands a jab to the nose.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manalo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Manalo wants to stand up but Mccray has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Mccray is refusing to be controlled, as Manalo sits in half guard.
James Manalo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Manalo wants to stand up but Mccray is controlling the position.
Mccray wants to improve his position but Manalo is controlling well.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Manalo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Manalo closes the distance and clinches.

Mccray feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Manalo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mccray's brow.

Mccray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mccray fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Manalo cracks a nice hook into Mccray's ribs.

Mccray tries to close the distance and clinch up but Manalo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Manalo looking to score a takedown here. Mccray is defending well but Manalo drives through and ends up in Mccray's guard.
Manalo wants to control from the top but Mccray keeps moving.
Manalo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Amado Mccray has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James Manalo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mccray throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manalo's waist but Manalo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mccray off to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Manalo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Manalo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
