Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vann Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Sinistra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vann Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vinnie Sinistra!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight leaves Sinistra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sinistra misses with a few strikes there.
Vinnie Sinistra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sinistra thows a body shot but no joy.
Knight connects with a body shot.
Sinistra fails with a takedown attempt.
Knight wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Knight throws a good cross that connects.
Knight leaves Sinistra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vann Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Sinistra.
Knight misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sinistra tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knight swivels and escapes.

Sinistra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knight but Knight pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sinistra shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Knight misses with a jab, cross combination.
Knight lands a nice hook to Sinistra's body. Sinistra takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Knight fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sinistra on the side of the head.
Sinistra on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Knight throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


Sinistra is rocked!
Sinistra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knight but Knight pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sinistra is still on wobbly legs! Can Knight finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sinistra shoots in and bounces Knight off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Sinistra seems to have recovered his senses.
Sinistra trying to control the position from guard on top but Knight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sinistra won't allow Knight to sweep him here.

Knight is trying to control the position but Sinistra postures up.
Knight has control of Sinistra's left arm, preventing Sinistra from doing any damage.

Sinistra postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Knight is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sinistra, into his guard.
Knight works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Sinistra is trying to get back to full guard.

Sinistra looking for a kimura from the bottom but Knight passes into side control!
Knight staying calm.
Knight trying to control the position but Sinistra is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sinistra trying to remain calm as Knight controls from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight trying to control the action but Sinistra is working from the bottom.
The referee asks Knight politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Knight prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Knight wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sinistra keeps working.

Vann Knight has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Sinistra feints and as Knight raises his hands in defense, Sinistra changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Knight pulls Sinistra in close to prevent any damage.
Sinistra wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving.

Knight wants to sweep but no luck.
Sinistra trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Vinnie Sinistra hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Knight is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sinistra goes for a double leg but Knight avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Knight continues to drive forward.
Sinistra blocks a body shot from Knight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Knight has Sinistra pressed against the cage, preventing Sinistra from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
With the fighters up against the cage, Knight throws an elbow but misses.
Knight throws an elbow that misses.
Sinistra is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vann Knight dominated that round.

Sinistra has a takedown stuffed.
Vann Knight is winning the standup battle so far.
Sinistra throws a hook but Knight blocks it.

Sinistra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Knight wants to control but Sinistra is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sinistra seems to be working for a kimura but Knight defends the submission attempt.

Knight is trying to stand.
Knight wants to improve his position but Sinistra is controlling well.
Knight keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Sinistra is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vinnie Sinistra has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sinistra is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Knight defends it well.

Knight is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Knight is trying to control but can't.
Knight wants to improve his position but Sinistra is controlling well.

Sinistra is working for a kimura but Knight is defending it quite comfortably.
Knight is looking for a sweep. Sinistra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sinistra seems to be looking for submissions.

Knight wants to control but Sinistra is keeping busy.
Knight looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sinistra looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Knight is trying to maintain the position but Sinistra is very close to passing his half guard.

Sinistra is trying to work for a kimura but Knight is defending well.

Sinistra is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sinistra is looking to pass Knight's guard but actually Knight recovers to full guard.
Knight wants to sweep here but Sinistra controlling him for the moment.
Sinistra stops Knight from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vinnie Sinistra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Sinistra slips a jab and a cross from Knight.
Sinistra throws a looping overhand right but Knight ducks down to avoid it.
Sinistra takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sinistra falls off balance throwing a combination
and Knight counters with a nice kick to the body.
Sinistra shoots in but Knight avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sinistra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knight avoids it really well and circles away.
Sinistra closes this distance looking for a takedown but Knight circles away.
Vann Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Sinistra.
Sinistra is trying hard to land a takedown here. Knight sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sinistra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Knight lands a jab to the nose.
Knight bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sinistra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Knight's guard.
Knight knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sinistra on the ground.

Sinistra postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Knight is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sinistra, into his guard.
Knight slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Sinistra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Knight's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Sinistra is looking for a triangle but Knight pushes his legs off easily.
Knight is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Vann Knight wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sinistra.
Knight lands a head kick. Sinistra smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sinistra fails with a takedown attempt.
Knight scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Sinistra fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Knight cracks a nice hook into Sinistra's ribs.
Knight throws a front kick that sends Sinistra stumbling back into the cage.
Knight connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Knight lands with a cross.

Sinistra lands a nice shot that snaps Knight's head back.
Sinistra takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Knight throws a head kick that Sinistra semi-blocks.
Knight pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Knight wants to clinch up but Sinistra keeps it at a distance.
Sinistra takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Sinistra shoots in for a takedown but Knight shows good takedown defense.
Knight lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Sinistra falls backwards - clearly groggy! Knight dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vann Knight!
Vann Knight decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
