The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson throws a series of punches but Scott avoids them all with ease.
Scott fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dawson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Scott fails with an attempt to clinch.
Scott tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dawson counters by moving into the clinch.
Scott tries to pull guard but Dawson holds him up against the cage and eventually Scott drops back down to his feet.

Dawson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scott fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dawson blocks a head kick by Scott.
Scott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dawson pinned against the cage. Dawson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dawson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scott manages to avoid it.
Scott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chad Dawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Scott.

Dawson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Scott lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dawson moves away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dawson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Scott throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Dawson's body to avoid the submission. Dawson has instead reached around Scott's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Dawson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
