The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Somchaimy swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Somchaimy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
De Payens has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Somchaimy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Somchaimy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De Payens throws a nice looking combination but Somchaimy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Payens.
De Payens is looking to slow Somchaimy down with leg kicks.

Somchaimy tries a low kick but De Payens avoids it.
Somchaimy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Nopparat Somchaimy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Payens scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Somchaimy lands a jab to the nose.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Somchaimy tries to clinch there but De Payens circles away.
Somchaimy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Somchaimy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
De Payens ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A nice leg kick lands there from De Payens.
We've been hearing reports that Somchaimy has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
De Payens throws a series of punches but Somchaimy moves out of range.
De Payens scores with a head kick. Somchaimy tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Somchaimy rushes De Payens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

De Payens unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Somchaimy! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but De Payens is unloading with more strikes now! Somchaimy drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
