Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sum Yung Gai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sum Yung Gai is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sum Yung Gai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Monsoon!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monsoon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Monsoon won't allow Gai to sweep him here.
Gai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gai thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon tries to kick Gai off but Gai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gai slips a nice elbow through Monsoon's hands, connecting with Monsoon's forehead.
Monsoon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gai wants to free his trapped foot but Monsoon is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gai missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Gai throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gai is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gai throwing shots but Monsoon is blocking nicely.

Monsoon is defending against the submission attempts here by Gai.

Gai is looking for a kimura but Monsoon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gai to get the leverage.

Gai sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Monsoon defending well though.
Gai not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gai throwing shots but Monsoon is blocking nicely.
Gai tries to pass the half guard into mount. Monsoon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gai not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Monsoon wants to control but Gai is keeping busy.
Monsoon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gai.

Gai prevents Monsoon from improving his position.
Gai trying to pass the guard but Monsoon defending well.
Gai throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Monsoon to regain full guard.

Gai drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Monsoon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gai has Monsoon in his guard.
Monsoon cracks Gai with a solid left hand.
Gai tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Monsoon works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monsoon is trying to control. Gai wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Monsoon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Monsoon is looking to advance position but Gai won't allow it.

Monsoon is looking for a kimura here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gai on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sum Yung Gai dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A head kick misses from Gai.
Monsoon moves out of range of the body kick.
Monsoon shoots in looking for a takedown but Gai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Monsoon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Monsoon blocks a head kick by Gai.

Monsoon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gai's guard.
Monsoon working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Monsoon tries to stand but Gai is controlling from the bottom.
Gai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Monsoon's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gai accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Monsoon holds on and takes a little breather.
Gai throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Gai is looking to work some ground and pound but Monsoon has wrist control.
Monsoon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Monsoon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Monsoon looking to control.
Gai advances position into side control!
Gai landing a few strikes.

Gai is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Monsoon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gai landing a few strikes.

Gai is trying to get an arm triangle but Monsoon is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gai throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Gai lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Gai working the ground and pound.


Monsoon is rocked!
The crowd goes nuts as Gai knocks Monsoon out cold with a massive hammerfist! Gai Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sum Yung Gai!
