The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Sampson .
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sampson slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sampson scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sampson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Renan Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sampson is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Sampson circles away and we're back to standing.
