The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote tries to clinch but Besti is having none of it.
Cote is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cote looks to throw a body kick
and Besti counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Besti is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Besti wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cote keeps working.
Besti slows the pace down in half guard.
Cote tries to roll over but Besti keeps him under control.
Cote's coaches at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Besti is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cote is just riding it out for now. Besti eventually gives up the hold.

Besti thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cote's head.
Cote moves into full guard.

Cote keeping moving, preventing Besti from controlling successfully.
Cote wants to get back to his feet but Besti is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cote is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Besti wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gatto Besti.
Cote wants to clinch but Besti slips to the side
and Besti counters with a takedown into side control.
Besti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cote has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Besti is looking to take a break and control but Cote is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cote wants to control but Besti postures up.
Besti wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cote, who protects the arm well.

Cote can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Besti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cote has escaped the position, nice work there.

Besti wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cote keeps working.
Besti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Besti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Besti is looking to take a break and control but Cote is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
My spies in Den of Tears (22 coaches, $300 fee) inform me that Besti has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Besti goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cote rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Besti's guard! Nice work there by Cote!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gatto Besti dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cote wants to clinch but Besti slips to the side
and Besti counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cote!
Besti trying to control the action but Cote is working from the bottom.
Besti has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cote!
Besti is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Cote is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Cote flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Besti anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Cote and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Besti slips an arm under Cote chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Besti has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Besti is squeezing on Cote like an anaconda would it's prey. Cote fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gatto Besti!
Gatto Besti spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
