PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Game Time Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Smooth Operator. Benny Thompson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Thompson fights it but they end up in guard.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thompson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thompson has escaped and now he's on top!
Jones has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thompson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
