Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jospeh Pollard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jospeh Pollard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan clinches up with Pollard and pushes him back against the cage.
Pollard lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Khan backwards.
Pollard is trying to drag Khan to the mat but Khan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Khan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Pollard has Khan pressed against the cage.

Khan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Pollard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pollard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pollard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Pollard is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pollard has his foot on Khan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khan works his way back into a safe position though.

Pollard wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.

Pollard tries to clinch up but Khan circles away and keeps his distance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Khan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pollard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Khan is in Pollard's guard.

Pollard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Pollard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pollard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Khan's guard.
Pollard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Khan pulls Pollard in to control the position.
Pollard wants to stand but Khan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Khan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pollard working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Khan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Khan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pollard working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Khan's head.
Pollard content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Pollard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Khan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Pollard throws a big elbow that misses.
Pollard postures up in Khan's guard and throws a big left but Khan blocks it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Khan is on top in guard.

Pollard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Khan is trying to control the action in half guard but Pollard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Still in half guard, Khan seems content to control.

Khan is trying to work for a kimura but Pollard is defending well.

Khan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pollard's head.

Pollard tries to roll over but Khan keeps him under control.
Khan wants to stand up but Pollard is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Amir Khan will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Pollard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Pollard enables Khan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pollard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Khan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pollard, up you get!

Khan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A short uppercut from Pollard.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Khan has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Pollard is trying to keep an underhook but Khan manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Pollard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Khan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Khan's back!
Pollard is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Pollard is trying to stick to Khan's back but Khan is turning into Pollard. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pollard's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Khan.

Amir Khan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
