The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leaseau tries to clinch but Halmann moves away
and Halmann counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Halmann.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Leaseau is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

I was talking to Leaseau's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Halmann has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Leaseau is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've been informed that Halmann has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
