Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edward Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enrico Matta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Matta's choice of entrance music: Velociraptor by SUBSONICA. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enrico Matta!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matta has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Flores finds it's way round the side to connect with Matta's head.
It looks like Enrico Matta has been cut.
Flores misses with a jab, cross combination.
A swing and a miss from Matta.
Flores tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matta was well out of range. Poor timing from Flores.
Flores moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Matta with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Matta shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Flores eats them both and turns towards Matta to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
That kick from Flores tenderised Matta's leg. Matta is trying to keep his angry face on.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Matta misses the shot to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Matta.
Matta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Flores rushes Matta and presses him up against the cage.

Flores definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Flores pushes Matta back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Flores lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Matta backwards.

Matta seems to have recovered his senses.
Still in the clinch, Flores scores with a nice short uppercut.
Flores digs a right hand underneath Matta's ribcage. Matta let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Matta tries to throw a body punch but Flores avoids it by throwing Matta back against the cage.
Flores throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mattas head.
Flores lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Flores misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A head punch on the inside from Matta fails to land.

Flores lands a shot to the body.
Flores swings wildly with an uppercut but Matta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Flores tries to work over Matta's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Flores creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Matta has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Matta throws a punch but it's blocked by Flores.

Matta tries to throw a body punch but Flores avoids it by throwing Matta back against the cage.

Flores swings wildly with an uppercut but Matta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Flores working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Flores creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Matta with a big uppercut! Matta tries to clinch up but Flores pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Matta to the mat! Matta covers up and Flores unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Edward Flores!

A less than humble Edward Flores misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
