Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Bolda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Varian Wyrnn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bolda comes to the cage accompanied by Fett's Vette. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Bolda.
A swing and a miss from Bolda.

Wyrnn gets caught napping as Bolda dives in and scores a takedown. Wyrnn manages to retain guard.
Bolda wants to pass the guard but Wyrnn is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bolda throws a hook but Wyrnn blocks it.
Wyrnn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bolda throws out the jab.

Wyrnn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wyrnn shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've been hearing reports that Bolda has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Bolda throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wyrnn on the side of the head.
Bolda throws out a loose jab but Wyrnn uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wyrnn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wyrnn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bolda manages to avoid it.

Wyrnn felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Josh Bolda just wasn't active enough.
Wyrnn misses with a low kick as Bolda jumps back.

Wyrnn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bolda swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bolda jabs Wyrnn right on the nose. Wyrnn blinks but takes it well.

Bolda struggles to land a body shot inside as Wyrnn controls his hands.
Bolda can't find room to land a body shot as Wyrnn controls the action.
Wyrnn lands a hook that snaps the head of Bolda backwards.
Bolda goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bolda jumps guard but Wyrnn stands there with Bolda around his waist. Bolda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wyrnn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bolda looking to sit in guard and control but Wyrnn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bolda pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bolda misses with a hook. Wyrnn ducked under it nicely.
Bolda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wyrnn pinned against the cage. Wyrnn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wyrnn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bolda.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wyrnn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bolda is able to avoid easily.
Bolda bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bolda avoids a punch combination nicely.
A jab lands there for Bolda.

Bolda drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bolda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Wyrnn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bolda manages to get himself to full guard.

Bolda is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bolda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wyrnn defends well.

Wyrnn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Wyrnn, right into the meat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wyrnn misses with a looping left.
Wyrnn attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

and Bolda decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wyrnn's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Wyrnn counters with a body kick that stops Bolda in his tracks momentarily.
Bolda stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wyrnn is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bolda has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wyrnn is looking to defend but Bolda has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wyrnn! Bolda pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wyrnn taps out and this one is all over!
