Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marcelo Silva was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva clinches with his opponent.
Douglas breaks from the clinch.
Douglas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Douglas is trying to control the action in half guard but Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Douglas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Silva gets caught napping as Douglas dives in and scores a takedown. Silva manages to retain guard.
Douglas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Douglas!
Silva jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Douglas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Douglas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Douglas tries to get out of the position.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Douglas is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Douglas is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.
Douglas stalling away here and it's allowed Silva to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Douglas has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Douglas is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Douglas to sleep! This one is all over!
