Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Burt Howard!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kouya dives in and grabs Howard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Howard pushes down on Kouya's head and hops out.

Howard scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Howard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kouya's head.
Howard winds up and cracks Kouya with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kouya is trying to stand back up but Howard is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Howard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Howard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Howard slips a nice elbow through Kouya's hands, connecting with Kouya's forehead.
Howard working over Kouya with some ground and pound. Kouya looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Howard lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Howard is nestled in close to Kouya, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Howard seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Howard misses with a head shot. Kouya uses the momentum to regain guard.

Kouya bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Howard's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kouya stops Howard from standing up.
Kouya works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Howard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kouya's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kouya's back!

Howard doesn't have the hooks in and Kouya manages to turn into his guard.

Howard wants to stand and escape but Kouya is having none of it.
Kouya won't allow Howard to sweep him here.

Howard wants to sweep here but Kouya controlling him for the moment.

Howard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Howard has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kouya has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Howard wants a takedown.

Kouya lands a knee to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Burt Howard has been cut.
Kouya is trying to break free.
Howard drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kouya gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kazunori Kouya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Burt Howard.

Kouya working the clinch nicely. Howard is working for position but Kouya cracks him with a big knee to the head! Howard crumples up against the cage and Kouya lands two more shots before the ref can save Howard! This one is all over!
