Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenton Solis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Fratinni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenton Solis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Fratinni!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fratinni has a takedown stuffed.

Fratinni tries to keep at a distance but Solis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fratinni has Solis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Fratinni pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Solis tumbling to the mat - Fratinni dives into Solis's guard.
Fratinni is fighting to break Solis's control of his arms but Solis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Solis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fratinni throws a series of punches but Solis moves out of range.

and Fratinni holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Solis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fratinni uses from the top position.

Fratinni wants to stand but Solis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fratinni decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Solis throws a right and a left that Fratinni avoids nicely.
Solis tries a head kick but it misses.

Solis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fratinni drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Solis successfully pulls guard.
Fratinni looking to sit in guard and control but Solis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fratinni manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Solis manages to get himself to full guard.

Fratinni is working for a submission of some sort.
Fratinni is trying to control the action in half guard but Solis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fratinni wants to stand up but Solis is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Solis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fratinni shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Solis as he avoids it easily.
Solis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fratinni wants to clinch up but Solis keeps it at a distance.

Solis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fratinni to the ground. Solis is now in Fratinni's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fratinni is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Solis is staying active underneath Fratinni, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fratinni perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rick Fratinni was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Fratinni darts in looking for a takedown but Solis gets double underhooks and turns Fratinni into the cage.

Solis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Solis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fratinni manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Solis has Fratinni in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fratinni's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Solis is trying to control the position but Fratinni postures up.

Fratinni would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rick Fratinni wasn't active enough on the ground.

Kenton Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Fratinni.

Fratinni pulls guard.
Fratinni manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fratinni fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fratinni lands a big shot there that rocks Solis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Rick Fratinni has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fratinni tries to control but Solis wriggling away.
Fratinni misses with some ground and pound and Solis recovers position to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Fratinni showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Fratinni has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Solis uses from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fratinni is on top in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rick Fratinni hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fratinni is trying hard to land a takedown here. Solis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Solis drives through and clinches with Fratinni against the cage.
Solis jumps guard but Fratinni turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Fratinni lands a good knee to the midsection. Solis won't want to take too many of those.
Fratinni drops down looking for an ankle pick but Solis pulls his leg out and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fratinni looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Fratinni throws a sloppy head kick and Solis moves out of range easily.

Rick Fratinni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fratinni shoots for a takedown but Solis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kenton Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Fratinni.

Solis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Fratinni fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Solis, pushing him back against the cage.

Solis jumps guard but Fratinni stands there with Solis around his waist. Solis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

It looks like Kenton Solis has been cut.
Solis is trying to pull guard but Fratinni has him pressed against the cage.

Fratinni gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fratinni uses his free foot to push down on Solis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Solis.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fratinni is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

And that's the end of the fight!
Rick Fratinni comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fratinni winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
