PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chang Harmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christine Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chang Harmon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harmon has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Cabrera.
Nice body kick there by Cabrera.
Harmon fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Cabrera swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cabrera closes the distance and clinches up with Harmon, looking for a takedown. Cabrera pushes Harmon against the cage but Harmon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Harmon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Chang Harmon has been cut.
Cabrera looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cabrera throws a head kick but Harmon moves out of range.

Harmon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cabrera!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on Cabrera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cabrera throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Cabrera keeps the fight on the outside.
Cabrera thuds a left hand into Harmon's body.
Harmon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cabrera throws a combination that misses
and Cabrera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cabrera fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cabrera gets tackled into the cage by Harmon. Harmon maintains the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harmon can't break the clinch.
Cabrera lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Cabrera is pressed up against the cage. Harmon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cabrera down to the mat. Cabrera avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cabrera shoots in and gets a takedown into Harmon's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cabrera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cabrera works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Harmon tries to kick Cabrera off but Cabrera keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cabrera throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Harmon is trying to control but can't.
Harmon is looking for a sweep. Cabrera is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cabrera stands up and beckons Harmon to join him on the feet.

Cabrera looking to score a takedown here. Harmon is defending well but Cabrera drives through and ends up in Harmon's guard.
Harmon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cabrera is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Harmon trying to keep a closed guard but Cabrera is proving a slippery customer.
Harmon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cabrera is one step ahead there.
Cabrera distracts Harmon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Harmon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cabrera keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harmon's head.
Cabrera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Harmon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cabrera on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cabrera wants to control from the top but Harmon keeps moving.

Cabrera cracks Harmon with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cabrera tries to clinch but Harmon is having none of it.
Crunch! Cabrera slams his shin into Harmon's torso.
Harmon slips a jab and a cross from Cabrera.
Harmon connects with the punch.

Cabrera drives through with a takedown into Harmon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Christine Cabrera has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cabrera gets to his feet and stands over Harmon, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Harmon felt that one! Cabrera unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Harmon from any more punishment!
