Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Recksun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Recksun has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Hester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugh Recksun!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Recksun throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Recksun looks to land a combination but Hester avoids it well.
Recksun looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hester gets a takedown into half guard.
Recksun is trying to stand.
Hester working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hester is keen to just control but Recksun is a slippery customer.

Recksun is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hester is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Recksun throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hester works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Recksun wants to stand and escape but instead Hester has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hester throws a strike but Recksun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hester pulls Recksun in close to prevent any damage.
Recksun throws a big elbow that misses.
Recksun stopping the sweep attempt from Hester.
Recksun tries to stand but Hester is controlling from the bottom.

Hester utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Recksun wants to control from the top but Hester keeps moving.
Hester looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hester is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Recksun is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hester wants to clinch up but Recksun keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Hester will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Hester tries to close the distance and clinch up but Recksun swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Recksun fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hester, pushing him back against the cage.
Hester looking to stall.
Recksun goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hester prevents it.
Hester tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hester is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Recksun tries to pull guard but Hester won't allow it.

Recksun has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hester clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hester trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Recksun is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hester has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Hester wants to control his opponent's hands but Recksun gets his hands free.

Recksun tightening his grip on Hester, looking for the choke.

Recksun has got his arm under Hester's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Hester has spun round into Recksun's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Recksun wants to stand up but Hester is controlling him.
Hester scoring with punches to the head and body.
Recksun wants to stand and escape but Hester is having none of it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Recksun has momentary wrist control but Hester slips an elbow through the middle.

Marcus Hester overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Recksun wants to stand but Hester is controlling the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hester accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Recksun wants to stand and escape but Hester is having none of it.
Hester wants to control from the top but Recksun keeps moving.
Recksun can't keep his opponent in guard - Hester advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Recksun is refusing to be controlled, as Hester sits in half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Recksun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Recksun takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Recksun avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Recksun fails with a takedown attempt.

and Hester counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Recksun!

Recksun prevents Hester from improving position.
Hester taking a break here but Recksun is having none of it and regains half guard.
Hester wants to lay and pray for a moment but Recksun keeps working.
Nice strikes from Hester there.
Recksun wants to get back to his feet.
Hester moves nicely into side control.

Hester works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Hester is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Recksun knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ground and pound from Hester seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hester cracks Recksun with a big right hand but Recksun just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hester is just content to waste time from the top position. Recksun takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Hester stops Recksun from standing up.
Hester tries to free his leg and advance position but Recksun is retaining full guard.
Hugh Recksun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
