The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karoa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blevins's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Karoa content to stall in guard here.
Blevins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Karoa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Karoa trying to control the position from guard on top but Blevins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Karoa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karoa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Blevins is looking to stand up but Karoa isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blevins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Karoa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Karoa wants to control from the top but Blevins keeps moving.
Karoa passes Blevins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Blevins is trying to stand up here but Karoa is controlling him well.
