Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joeli Babitu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
19 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joeli Babitu!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Babitu defends well and Walter ends up having to push Babitu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Walter jumps guard and drags Babitu to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Walter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joeli Babitu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

We've been informed that Babitu has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Walter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Babitu did well to prevent Walter getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walter throws a strike but Babitu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Peter Walter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Babitu pulls Walter in close to his closed guard and prevents Walter from doing any damage or advancing position.

Walter tries to move into range but Babitu moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Babitu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Walter momentarily.

Babitu throws a leg kick which misses Walter's front leg but catches the back leg as Walter tries to avoid it.
Walter moves in looking to clinch but Babitu pushes him off.
Babitu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walter has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Babitu lands a big head kick that sends Walter tumbling to the mat! Babitu takes a step backwards and waves Walter back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Peter Walter has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Babitu. Babitu obviously looking to wear him down.
Oh Walter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Babitu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Walter seems to have got his legs back now.
Babitu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Walter is out of range and Babitu settles back down.
Walter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Babitu pinned against the cage. Babitu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Babitu throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Babitu drops Walter with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Walter looks back up at him and smiles so Babitu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Walter is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Babitu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Walter is out of range and Babitu settles back down.
Walter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Joeli Babitu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Peter Walter's cut.
That's time! Walter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Walter tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Donk. Babitu catches Walter right on the button with a cross.
Babitu lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Walter goes down and covers up as Babitu starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joeli Babitu!
Joeli Babitu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
