Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Speed King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Speed King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Cooper!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Cooper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King pushes Cooper off looking to stand but Cooper dives back in and keeps control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
King moves into full guard.
Cooper content to stall in guard here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cooper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cooper wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

King pulls Cooper in close to his closed guard and prevents Cooper from doing any damage or advancing position.

King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

King throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cooper escapes and throws King's legs to the side, diving into side control!
You can see the frustration on King's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cooper advances nicely into full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sam Cooper will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

King shoots in and drives through. Cooper sprawls well.

King scores with a one two! Cooper had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cooper is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Cooper circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Speed King will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cooper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooper off to one side.

King has closed the distance and engaged Cooper in a clinch.
King tries to pull guard but Cooper won't allow it.
Cooper has King pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. King manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cooper takes a knee right on the jaw!
King digs a right hand underneath Cooper's ribcage. Cooper let out a lung full of air as it connected.
King effectively controlling the action here.

King is looking for a takedown.
King is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cooper is defending well.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cooper takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Cooper is pressed up against the cage. King has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cooper down to the mat. Cooper avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Cooper shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has King pinned against the cage. King gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cooper throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. King was covering up waiting for the punch and Cooper finishes the takedown easily into guard.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cooper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cooper is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Cooper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Speed King.
I think King has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
