Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugh Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rusty Nales!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nales closes the distance and clinches.

Nales escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nales shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jordan's guard.
Nales distracts Jordan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jordan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Nales has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nales seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nales working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jordan is working an open guard so Nales takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Let's hope that Nales has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Nales is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rusty Nales wasn't active enough on the ground.

Nales pushes Jordan up against the cage in a clinch.

Nales breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jordan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jordan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Nales clinches up with Jordan and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jordan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nales has him pressed against the cage.

Jordan moves forwards but Nales connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Nales closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jordan throws a head punch that misses.
Jordan tries for a takedown but Nales manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugh Jordan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nales drags the fight down to the ground.
Nales lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jordan!

Nales lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Nales loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Jordan scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Nales land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Nales stands and salutes the crowd.
