Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between German Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Knees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Knees!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knees shoots in for a double leg but Pearson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Knees shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pearson defends it nicely.
Knees shoots in for a takedown but Pearson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
German Pearson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Knees.

Knees forces Pearson back against the cage and clinches.
Pearson is trying to maintain a safe position but Knees gets an underhook and turns Pearson into the cage.
Knees is trying to break the clinch but Pearson is controlling him.

Pearson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pearson is fighting to break Knees's control of his arms but Knees is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Knees rushes Pearson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Knees is pushing Pearson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Knees tries for a takedown but Pearson manages to get underhooks.

Pearson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knees shoots in and drives through. Pearson sprawls well.

Pearson wants to get back to striking at distance but Knees won't allow it.

Pearson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pearson manages to end up in side control.

Knees can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knees moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pearson is looking to stand up but Knees won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Knees had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pearson defends it easily.

Knees escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pearson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that German Pearson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Knees will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Knees drives through and clinches with Pearson against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Pearson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Knees is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pearson is defending well for now.
Pearson is looking to break free of the clinch but Knees has double underhooks.

Pearson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Knees has him pressed against the cage.

Pearson is trying to force a seperation but Knees has the dominant position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pearson slaps away a takedown attempt from Knees, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Knees is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pearson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Knees to the mat. Knees regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Knees wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Knees working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pearson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pearson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Knees lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pearson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Let's hope that Knees has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Diego Knees showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Pearson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Knees's efforts to push away.
The referee is keeping an eye on Knees - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knees shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pearson pinned against the cage. Pearson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

I would just about give that final round to Diego Knees.
Well Knees has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
