Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Glen Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Silva!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Burns moves into the clinch.
Silva pushes Burns back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Glen Burns has been cut.
Silva prevents Burns from breaking the clinch.

Silva jumps guard.
Silva is trying to hold Burns in close to prevent damage but Burns has managed to pass into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva regains full guard. Nicely done.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Glen Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Silva.

Burns wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva tries to buck Burns off but Burns is having none of it.

Burns looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Burns works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Burns has control of an arm but Silva manages to advance to Burns's back!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva keeps control of the position as Burns tries to break free.

Burns breaks Silva's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Burns uses it to pass to side control.

Burns is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva is looking for a sweep. Burns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Silva is looking to escape.
Burns thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.

Glen Burns has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Burns tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Burns could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Burns wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Burns works over Silva with some ground and pound from guard.
Burns wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva is looking to control Burns's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted?

Burns is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva is staying active underneath Burns, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Silva jumps guard but Burns turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Burns avoids it.
Burns is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Burns is looking to break free of the clinch but Silva has double underhooks.
Silva misses with a knee to the head.

Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Burns uses from the top position.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burns defends it easily.

I would just about give that final round to Carlos Silva.
