Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcdaniels turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mcdaniels manages to end up in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rasmussen throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Rasmussen manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcdaniels blocks the strikes from Rasmussen.

Mcdaniels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasmussen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mcdaniels wants the takedown. Rasmussen is fighting it off but Mcdaniels persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rasmussen's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Owen Rasmussen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mcdaniels drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rasmussen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rasmussen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcdaniels's guard.
