Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carrol Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glutimus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carrol Witt has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Carrol Witt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Glutimus Maximus!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Witt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maximus did well to prevent Witt getting side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Witt is controlling the pace.

Witt decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Maximus doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Witt counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Witt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Witt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Witt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Witt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Witt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Carrol Witt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Witt stands up over Maximus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Witt counters with a left and a right that stings Maximus.

Witt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Maximus to the ground. Witt is now in Maximus's guard.
Witt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Witt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Witt gets to his feet. Maximus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Witt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maximus can do to turn this around?

and Witt counters by moving into the clinch.

Witt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maximus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Witt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Maximus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Carrol Witt wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Witt perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Witt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Witt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maximus circles away quickly and effectively.

Carrol Witt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glutimus Maximus.
