Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Homer Cox!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera circles away from the clinch attempt

so Rivera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cox is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rivera sitting in guard here, content to control.
Cox utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rivera scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Rivera is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cox is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Cox can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rivera controls the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cox shoots for a takedown but Rivera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rivera looking to score a takedown here. Cox is defending well but Rivera drives through and ends up in Cox's guard.
Rivera is looking to work some ground and pound but Cox has wrist control.
Cox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mountain Rivera just wasn't active enough.
Rivera lands with a big right hook that stumbles Cox - he's out on his feet here! Rivera follows up with another monster hook that separates Cox from consciousness! Cox falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Rivera stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
