Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Joll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dorian Ilic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joll's entrance music is ACDC - ThunderStruck. A fine choice. Ilic has chosen Hardwell feat. Amba Shepherd - Apollo as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joll circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ilic throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ilic lands with an uppercut that bounces Joll off the cage and back into range.
Ilic darts in trying to clinch

and Joll counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Joll thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Joll has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Joll stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ilic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ilic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joll. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Joll slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ilic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Joll controls the pace.

Greg Joll has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ilic cracks Joll with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Joll is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ilic defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Joll is looking to take a break and control but Ilic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Joll takes a little break here. Ilic wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Ilic avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Joll.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ilic seems a little lost for a moment, as Joll dominates the positioning.
Greg Joll overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Joll cracks Ilic with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Ilic is trying to escape the position but Joll is controlling the position.
Joll seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ilic for as long as he can get away with.

Joll throws a strike aimed at the side of Ilic's head but Ilic avoids it well.
Joll advances nicely into full mount.
Joll lands with some strikes.
Ilic is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Joll stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Joll bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ilic is rocked!
