The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shopov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Van Godart tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shopov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Shopov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Van Godart on the ground.

Shopov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Godart swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Van Godart is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Shopov rolls with it to try and escape but Van Godart cranks on the arm and Shopov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
