The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richlin moves away from the strike by Topps.
Richlin tries to clinch up.

Topps lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Topps tries to score with a low kick but Richlin moves his leg out of the way.
Richlin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Richlin rushes Topps and presses him up against the cage.
Topps tries to break the clinch but Richlin is controlling the position.
Richlin has Topps pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Topps manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Richlin is working an open guard so Topps takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Topps shoots in but no luck this time.
Richlin fails with the takedown.
Richlin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Richlin blocks a jab.
Richlin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Topps swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Topps shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Richlin shoots in for a double leg but Topps sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Richlin doesn't manage to clinch there - Topps circles away.
A head kick misses from Topps.
Richlin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Topps looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Topps moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Richlin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Richlin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Topps.

Topps connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Richlin momentarily.
Horrible takedown by Richlin or perhaps it was just good defense by Topps which made him look bad.
