Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aku Kuat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ice Cube- Check Yo Self (Original Version). Aku Kuat is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aku Kuat!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuat shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramirez but Ramirez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ramirez instigates a clinch.
Kuat drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ramirez gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Ramirez has picked Kuat up - he's going for a ride! Ramirez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kuat manages to get to full guard.
Ramirez tries to stand but Kuat is controlling from the bottom.
Kuat looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kuat has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kuat with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuat throws an elbow that misses. Ramirez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kuat's guard. Nice move by Ramirez!

Kuat jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ramirez walks away with a smile on his face. Kuat gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ramirez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kuat clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Aku Kuat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
