The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Crofton misses with a takedown attempt

and Halmann moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crofton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Halmann walks away with a smile on his face. Crofton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've been hearing reports that Halmann has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Crofton stuffs the takedown.

Crofton shoots and misses

and Halmann holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Crofton stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Halmann throws up his legs and catches Crofton in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Crofton tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Halmann! That came out of nowhere!
