Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brenton Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Upper Cut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Upper Cut will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cut tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sharp manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cut shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cut showed some decent athleticism there.
Cut not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cut is thwarting Sharp's attempts to control the position.
Cut seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sharp is controlling Cut's trapped leg to prevent Cut from advancing to side control.

We're going to have a standup here because Brenton Sharp wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cut closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cut goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sharp has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cut but great work by Sharp.
Cut is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sharp asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sharp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cut knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sharp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cut for as long as he can get away with.
Sharp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sharp swings around for an armbar but Cut sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sharp's guard.
Sharp really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cut wants to control from the top but Sharp keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brenton Sharp.
Cut tries to clinch up.

Sharp tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cut smiles and moves away.

and Sharp counters by moving into the clinch.
Sharp jumps guard but Cut stands there with Sharp around his waist. Sharp gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sharp tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
