PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bors Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mos Def (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Def comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mathematics kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Def drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hill jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hill connects with a crisp jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Hill checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
We've been informed that Def has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Hill scores with a push kick.
Def throws out a leg kick but Hill moves out of range and Def only half commits.
Good standup being displayed there by Hill as he connects with a hook.

Def jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hill walks away with a smile on his face. Def gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Def tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hill manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Def moves in looking to clinch but Hill pushes him off.

Hill fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Def has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hill lands a nice shot that snaps Def's head back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bors Hill.
Def closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill wants to get up but he can't break Def's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Def is retaining full guard.
Hill looking to sit in guard and control but Def gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bors Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bors Hill will probably get the nod.

Hill shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Def is on queer street and Hill is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
