Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Cruzado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett shoots and misses
and Cruzado counters with a three punch combo that has Bennett backing up. Bennett nods at Cruzado to acknowledge the strikes.
Bennett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cruzado pinned against the cage. Cruzado gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sloppy strikes from Cruzado. Those never looked like landing.
Horrible takedown by Bennett or perhaps it was just good defense by Cruzado which made him look bad.
Javier Cruzado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Bennett.
Bennett shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cruzado counters with a left and a right that stings Bennett.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bennett doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cruzado counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Bennett down! Cruzado is looking to finish but Bennett is intelligently defending himself.
Bennett is rocked!
Bennett is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bennett is still in real trouble! Can Cruzado finish him?
Cruzado won't allow Bennett to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cruzado has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Cruzado tries to free his leg and advance position but Bennett is retaining full guard.
Bennett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tyson Bennett has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bennett fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

and Cruzado counters with a nice body shot.
Cruzado connects with a superb combination that knocks Bennett out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Cruzado before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Bennett!
