PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmonray Flauta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barnes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Barnes tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Flauta thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Barnes looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Barnes has control of Flauta's left arm, preventing Flauta from doing any damage.
Flauta has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Flauta works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Flauta is working for a submission of some sort.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barnes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Flauta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barnes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Flauta.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flauta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barnes is staying active underneath Flauta, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Flauta is looking for a kimura but Barnes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flauta to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flauta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ben Barnes wasn't active enough on the ground.
Barnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barnes wants it to stay on the feet.
Barnes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Flauta.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Barnes.
Flauta is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barnes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmonray Flauta. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barnes wants to clinch up but Flauta keeps it at a distance.
Flauta shoots in but Barnes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barnes lands a glancing blow to the side of Flauta's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Flauta steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Barnes. That one must have hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flauta closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Flauta is breathing heavily.
Barnes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Barnes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dmonray Flauta will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Barnes lands a big head kick that sends Flauta tumbling to the mat! Barnes takes a step backwards and waves Flauta back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Flauta is rocked!

It looks like Dmonray Flauta has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Flauta wants to land a leg kick but Barnes is out of range.
Oh Flauta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Flauta glances at the clock... BAM! Barnes nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Flauta crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Flauta is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Barnes!
