PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shia LaBeouf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaBeouf comes into the arena with Riptide blaring out of the sound system. Charles has chosen Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 4, fighting out of Montreal, Shia LaBeouf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Charles!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaBeouf moves out of range as Charles strikes.
Nice straight punches there by LaBeouf. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of LaBeouf.
Charles avoids the body shot from LaBeouf.
LaBeouf throws a right hand that misses
and Charles counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A lazy left from Charles finds it's target.
LaBeouf misses with a lunging right hand
and Charles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch but LaBeouf swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
LaBeouf throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
LaBeouf avoids a punch combination nicely.

Charles closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. LaBeouf did well to prevent Charles getting side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Charles wants to take a breather but LaBeouf is having none of it.

Charles throws a strike but LaBeouf rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Charles seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Charles has his foot on LaBeouf's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. LaBeouf works his way back into a safe position though.

Charles wants to sweep here but LaBeouf controlling him for the moment.
We've been hearing that LaBeouf has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Charles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaBeouf gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Charles told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Charles is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but LaBeouf frees his head nicely. Oh but Charles has switched to an armbar! LaBeouf is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
