Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Winston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Caleb Conner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Winston!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winston shoots in and gets a takedown into Conner's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Winston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like Winston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winston throwing strikes from guard but Conner blocks nicely.

Winston stands up and waves to Conner to follow him.

Winston darts in and clinches Conner up against the cage.

Conner pulls Winston into guard.
Winston is standing up over Conner. Conner looks to escape but Winston dives into side control.

Winston decides to stand back up. Winston steps back and let's Conner get back to his feet.
Conner tries for a takedown but Winston circles away easily
and Winston counters with a two punch combo.

Winston pulls Conner into guard.
Conner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Conner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Winston manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Winston has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Conner after a bit of a struggle.
Conner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Winston pulls guard.
Conner is working Winston over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Conner throws an elbow that misses. Winston uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Conner's guard. Nice move by Winston!
Conner striking off his back but it's not causing Winston any problems.
Winston stops Conner from standing up.
Conner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winston on the ground.
Winston slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Winston stops Conner from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Winston.
Conner shoots in looking for a takedown but Winston manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Conner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb Conner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Winston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Conner's guard.
Winston won't allow Conner to get back to his feet.
Conner is breathing heavily.
Winston passes Conner's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Winston slips a nice elbow through Conner's hands, connecting with Conner's forehead.
Winston is taking a breather. Conner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Winston gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Winston stuffs the takedown attempt from Conner. Conner gets slowly back to his feet.
Conner goes for a double leg but Winston avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Winston continues to drive forward.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Winston tries to pull guard but Conner holds him up against the cage and eventually Winston drops back down to his feet.

Conner is fighting off a takedown attempt but Winston is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Conner to the mat. Conner regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Winston dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Winston circles away from the clinch attempt
and Winston counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Winston has managed to clinch.
Conner avoids a wild elbow strike from Winston.

and Winston counters with a slapping leg kick.
Winston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Conner defends it nicely.
Conner fails with the takedown
and Winston counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Conner is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Conner is rocked!

Winston circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Conner to the canvas! Conner doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Winston keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Winston!
