Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fallon Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox has chosen Take a Walk on the Wild Side as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fox was well out of range. Poor timing from Ward.

Fox closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fox lands in his opponent's guard.
Ward pulls Fox in to control the position.
Ward has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fox postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tommy Ward.
Ward tries to clinch but Fox moves away
and Fox counters with a stiff right hand.

Ward unloads a knee to the mid-section. Fox lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Fox tries to work over Ward's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ward swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fox changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Fox scores with a hook to the body. Ward takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ward misses with a looping left.
Ward takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ward keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ward is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Fox closes the distance and lands a one-two.

and Ward makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Fox really felt that one!

and Fox counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fox slips a jab and a cross from Ward.

Fox leaves Ward with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Ward misses the target.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ward.
Fox lands the left hand.

Fox tries to keep at a distance but Ward has taken the fight into the clinch.
Fox drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tommy Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fallon Fox.

Fox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fox displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ward throws out the jab.

Fox is not content to let Ward control the position.

Fox is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ward to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ward shrugs it off.
Ward is looking to improve his position but Fox isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ward holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Fox tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ward tries to reverse the position but Fox maintains control.
Fox fails to take his opponent's back.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Fox working his ground and pound in the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ward is desperately trying to improve his position but Fox has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Ward will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ward would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

BOOM! Fox connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fox with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Fox has hold of Ward's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ward manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ward tries to lock up and control but Fox gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fox postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ward looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Ward has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
