The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johansen throws a shot from downtown. Rice moves away and avoids it.
Johansen throws a series of punches but Rice moves out of range.
Rice ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Johansen throws an overhand right that lands on Rice's shoulder, as Rice tries to avoid the shot.
Johansen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rice takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Johansen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rice counters with a stiff right hand.
Johansen slips a jab and a cross from Rice.
Johansen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rice.
Rice moves out of range as Johansen strikes.
Rice ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rice on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Johansen throws a jab when Rice was well out of range.
Rice lands with a straight right. Johansen didn't see that one coming.
A punch lands to the side of Rice 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Cory Rice has been cut.
A slow jab from Johansen misses its intended target.
Johansen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rice.

Johansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rice.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rice looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Johansen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Johansen throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Rice tumbling to the canvas!

Johansen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Rice is rocked!
Johansen is looking to stand up but Rice won't let him.
Johansen postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Rice covers up, he's hurt! Johansen keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Johansen and the ref steps in to end the fight! Johansen can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
