Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Packer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alec McRaven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Alfred Packer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alec McRaven!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRaven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Packer tries to avoid it but McRaven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Packer to the ground. Packer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Packer cracks McRaven with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Alec McRaven has been cut.

McRaven closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McRaven lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Packer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McRaven looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Packer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - McRaven looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Packer can't hide his disappointment, as McRaven celebrates the victory.
