Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rogelio Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and RikI Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, RikI Machida!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Machida forces Meyers back against the cage and clinches.
Meyers landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Meyers unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Machida has hold of one of Meyers's legs. Meyers is fighting the takedown attempt but Machida gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Meyers pulls Machida in close to prevent any damage.
Machida stops Meyers from standing up.
Meyers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Machida stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Machida gets the takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on Meyers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Meyers wants to get back to his feet.
Meyers avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Machida.

Machida stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Machida looks winded!
Machida pivots, looking for a leg kick but Meyers is out of range and Machida settles back down.
Meyers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machida is fending him off so far but Meyers persists. Nope, Machida circles away and we're back to standing.

Machida clinches.
Meyers misses with a body punch.
Machida trying to control the position but instead, Meyers has worked for underhooks and has pushed Machida into the cage.

Machida gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Machida in particular looking to stall.
Machida prevents Meyers from improving his position.
Machida controlling the pace.
Machida stops Meyers from getting back to his feet.
Meyers is trying to get back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. RikI Machida wasn't active enough on the ground.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt.
Meyers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rogelio Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Machida gets a clinch.
Meyers goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Meyers tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Machida has clasped his hands together around Meyers's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Machida is chipping away with strikes.
Meyers is looking to reverse the position.
Machida trying to control the action but Meyers is working from the bottom.
Meyers is trying to improve his position.

Machida has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
RikI Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Machida dives in and scores a takedown into Meyers's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Meyers is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Machida dives into side control.
Meyers gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Meyers tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meyers is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Machida wants to control the pace but Meyers is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

RikI Machida dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Machida fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Meyers, pushing him back against the cage.
Meyers lands an elbow that stopped Machida in his tracks for a moment.

Machida turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Meyers on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Meyers wants to control but Machida postures up.
Machida misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Meyers tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Machida presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
You get the feeling that Meyers really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Machida can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meyers is looking to escape.
Machida might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Meyers haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Meyers tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You get the feeling that Meyers really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Meyers has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Machida struggling to keep hold of the position.
Meyers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Machida slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Machida landing with strikes.

Machida is working for a rear naked choke. Meyers is not defending it well and Machida has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Meyers refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Meyers's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
