PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jani Tokkola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Pichushkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pichushkin throws a jab when Tokkola was well out of range.
Tokkola tries to clinch but Pichushkin is having none of it.
Tokkola misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pichushkin feints a jab promting Tokkola to slip. Pichushkin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tokkola slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Tokkola takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Tokkola takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Tokkola tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pichushkin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pichushkin slips a straight right by Tokkola.
Pichushkin lands a nice hook to Tokkola's body. Tokkola takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Tokkola gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Tokkola doesn't manage to clinch there - Pichushkin circles away.
Tokkola is looking to clinch but Pichushkin is avoiding it.
Pichushkin throws a shot from downtown. Tokkola moves away and avoids it.
Tokkola moves in looking to clinch but Pichushkin pushes him off.
Tokkola needs to keep his hands up - Pichushkin had a free shot at his head there.

Pichushkin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Tokkola is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pichushkin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It looks like Jani Tokkola has been cut.
Tokkola looks to land a combination but Pichushkin avoids it well.
Pichushkin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pichushkin.
Pichushkin misses with a wild body shot.
Pichushkin lands a nice shot that snaps Tokkola's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tokkola is rocked!
Some bone on bone action there as Pichushkin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Oh Tokkola is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pichushkin throws an overhand right that drops Tokkola like a sack of potatoes! Pichushkin dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
