Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Woodward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gin Ichimaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woodward fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ichimaru to the ground. Woodward is now in Ichimaru's guard.
Woodward throwing strikes from guard but Ichimaru blocks nicely.

Ichimaru looking for a guillotine here but Woodward defends easily.
Ichimaru throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ichimaru looking for a sweep. Not yet Ichimaru, not yet.
Ichimaru not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Woodward drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ichimaru looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ichimaru looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ichimaru!
Woodward knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ichimaru on the ground.
Ichimaru trying to control the position but Woodward is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Woodward is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ichimaru wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Woodward, who protects the arm well.
Ichimaru tries to stand but Woodward is controlling his head.
Ichimaru working the body and head with strikes.
Ichimaru wants to control but Woodward is keeping him busy.
Ichimaru working the ground and pound but Woodward is defending the strikes.

Ichimaru cracks Woodward with a big right hand but Woodward just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

It looks like Maxwell Woodward has been cut.
Woodward tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ichimaru wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Woodward sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Woodward wants to improve his position but Ichimaru is controlling well.

Ichimaru is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Woodward tries to get to full guard but Ichimaru has control of the leg.
Woodward taking some punishment here, with Ichimaru in his half guard.
Ichimaru passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Woodward!
Ichimaru lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Woodward is bucking up trying to escape but Ichimaru cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Maxwell Woodward's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Ichimaru loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Woodward scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Ichimaru land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Ichimaru stands and salutes the crowd.
